Lara Whelan
Nick Bentley lectures in English at Keele University and is also an Associate Lecturer for the Open University. His main research interests are in Post-1950s British literature and literary theory. He has published articles on the postmodern city, Iain Sinclair, Salman Rushdie, subcultural fictions, Richard Hoggart, Stuart Hall and Sam Selvon. He is currently working on a book on British culture and fiction of the 1950s, and is also editing a book for Routledge on contemporary British fiction.
Dr Robert Bond teaches twentieth century writing at Cambridge University
and the University of Westminster. He is the author of the first doctoral
thesis on Iain Sinclair, and has contributed entries on works by Iain
Sinclair, including a review of London Orbital, to the Literary
Encyclopaedia (www.LitEncyc.com). His book Iain Sinclair will be published
by Salt in 2004.
Selina Packard teaches at Goldsmiths College, University of London, where she has recently completed a PhD on fictional representations of the life of Mary Shelley and is planning to work on a biography of Claire Clairmont.
Michael Sayeau is a fifth-year graduate student in English at Princeton
University, where he specializes in nineteenth and twentieth-century
literature. He is currently at work on his dissertation entitled
Everyday: Literature, Modernity, and Time.
Dr Christiane Schlote teaches at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany
Susie Thomas teaches for Delaware University in London. Her critical study
of Willa Cather was published by Macmillan and she has written on Aphra Behn
and Jennifer Johnston. A Reader's Guide to Hanif Kureishi will appear in
2004.
Chloë Théault graduated from the Institute of political studies of Rennes. She is now Attachée temporaire d'enseignement et de recherche (temporary assistant) at the Institute of European studies of Paris VIII. She is finishing a thesis dealing with the art historiography of the Thirties in France and Great-Britain. She is member of the GRMP, Research group on museums and heritage, and of the European research program "Representations of the Past : National Histories in Europe".
Dr. Lara Whelan currently serves as Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and
Writing and Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at Berry
College, a small, private liberal arts college in Georgia (USA). She
earned her MA in Victorian Literature and Culture from King's College,
University of London, and went on to earn her doctorate in English at
University of Delaware. She has published articles on representations of
the suburb in Victorian literature, and is currently putting the
finishing touches on a manuscript regarding aesthetics, suburban
literature and Victorian culture.
